Fortel endeavours to help communities and charities both in the UK and India; with
assistance ranging from monetary donations to providing homes for the poor/homeless
and victims of natural disasters.
Birmingham to Bournemouth Bike Ride 2009

This year Fortel organised a 151 mile bike ride from Birmingham to Bournemouth on
12th and 13th September. The riders completed the tough journey in a total riding
time of 10h 48mins over two days; averaging a speed of 14mph, overcoming two punctures,
taking 2 "detours" and sporting very sore saddles for a few days to follow.
The online monies totalling £1546 will go to The British Heart Foundation
and donations made in person totalling £2300 and counting will go to The Sikh
Channel.

Building better foundations for young patients to breathe easy
Good Hope Hospital has received a generous donation to help babies breathe more
easily.
Fortel, the construction company working on the new ward block at the Hospital,
donated £500 to the children’s ward to buy a new piece of equipment used to treat
babies on the ward who need assisted ventilation before being moved into intensive
care.
The high flow oxygen meter will help with the care of many more children and babies
needing treatment for chest infections, especially during the winter months when
breathing difficulties due to chest infections brought on by the cold weather are
